Intelligence strikes the strongholds of drug traffickers

Detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense raided the strongholds of drug traffickers in four governorates, while federal police forces overthrew a gang specialized in “murder and robbery” in Baghdad.
The operations carried out by intelligence resulted in the overthrow of “14” wanted by the judiciary on charges of trafficking, promoting and transporting narcotic substances, including two women, in the governorates of “Baghdad, Babylon, Diyala and Nineveh”, and the defendants were seized in possession of various narcotic substances and tools used in abuse. The arrest process was based on the issuance of arrest warrants against them in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of Drugs. Legal measures were taken and they were referred to the relevant authorities.
In a separate operation, a Federal Police force was able to arrest members of a murder, robbery and armed robbery gang consisting of three defendants, after they attempted to kill a citizen in the Muscat neighborhood within the Al-Husseiniya district.
At the beginning of the operation, the force was able to arrest two members of the gang nicknamed (Hobi and Al-Karkhi), and based on the evidence of the accused Al-Karkhi, the whereabouts of the third accused were inferred and he was arrested.
They were seized with a quantity of crystal narcotic drugs and drug abuse devices, in addition to weapons, a grenade, and the motorcycles they use to carry out their crimes.
In Babylon, anti-organized crime detachments in the governorate were able, through a controlled ambush, to arrest five defendants in possession of 12 antiquities made of gold and one antique jar.
