The Ministry of Justice intends to establish a database to count real estate belonging to government institutions today, Wednesday.
A statement by the Ministry of Justice received by Mawazine News stated that "Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani met with members of the parliamentary committee for preserving state property, including MPs Amir Al-Maamouri and Hussein Al-Asadi, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Administrative and Financial Affairs Burhan Al-Qaisi and the Director General of the Real Estate Registration Department, Ibtisam Rahim Al-Saadi," noting that "the meeting focused on the importance of counting government properties and establishing practical mechanisms to create a comprehensive database that contributes to the effective management of public property."
According to the statement, the attendees discussed "mechanisms for preparing an accurate database for real estate belonging to state institutions, where Dr. Shawani stressed the importance of close coordination between legislative and executive bodies to ensure the preservation and protection of state property."
He stressed that "this database will constitute a pivotal tool in strengthening the governance system and confronting violations or illegal exploitation of government properties."
Shawani directed "the formation of a committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Burhan Al-Qaisi, and including the Director General of the Real Estate Registration Department and his assistants, to prepare a detailed report that includes a comprehensive study of state-owned properties, in coordination and communication with the relevant parliamentary committee."
