    [ltr]Baghdad balances News[/ltr]
[ltr]International Organization for Migration in Iraq issued a report dealing with migration flows from Iraq dossier to Europe and looking at the underlying causes of migration and reveals the reasons for the selection of Iraqi immigrants to Europe and their hopes, expectations and motivations to return to their homeland.[/ltr]
[ltr]It was the completion of this qualitative study based on 14 group discussion was held with 86 Iraqis who migrated to Europe in 2015 and then returned to Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]And it held group discussions in both Baghdad and the Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI) between March and April 2016 Monthly.[/ltr]
[ltr]Through the International Organization for Migration program for the voluntary return and reintegration, all the participants in this study returned to Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]The results show that the security reasons (general and personal) and the lack of equality, social justice and political stability are the main reasons that push to emigrate from Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]As it has been mentioned economic instability in all locations as the reason the proportion of secondary to security concerns in Baghdad.[/ltr]
[ltr]Security reasons and lack of equality, social justice and longer are the reasons behind the choice of Europe as a destination unintended.[/ltr]
[ltr]It was seen as a way of migrants to Europe is open is a less risky and expensive, and it was believed that the European countries have a welcoming immigration policies.[/ltr]
[ltr]Many of the participants chose the country of destination based on the presence of friends or relatives or information, and the ease of obtaining residence permits and the possibility of family reunification has often been to get this information through oral speech.[/ltr]
[ltr]However, most of the immigrants said that life in Europe in a way that may seem a perfect life, but actually more difficult than expected.[/ltr]
[ltr]The main reasons for the feeling of disappointment and frustration is the long wait and lack of predictability with regard to the asylum application process, followed by the living conditions, which were based on the reception system in the destination country.[/ltr]
[ltr]The three main reasons for returning to Iraq: In addition to the length of time waiting for the consideration of the asylum application may be the result is not guaranteed on the one hand and on the other hand, the inability of immigrants to support themselves abroad or their families back home. As well as a sense of disappointment with the overall experience in Europe; and the unexpected return to Iraq because of family circumstances, tragic or exceptional.[/ltr]
[ltr]One participant said in one of the group discussions "It is not easy to get a residence permit, as expected. Wait a really long time. "[/ltr]
[ltr]According to another participant: "Immigrants shocked because of the intensity of the different real life in the country of destination for their expectations."[/ltr]
[ltr]The report is the second phase of the research project, funded by the British Department for International Development.[/ltr]
[ltr]The first phase was the qualitative study, which was based on nearly 500 interviews, which was released in February 2016: "Migration flows from Iraq to Europe. "[/ltr]
[ltr]The head of the International Organization for Migration mission in Iraq Luther Thomas Weiss: "There are approximately 85,000 Iraqis have arrived in Greece by sea only during the second half of 2015.[/ltr]
[ltr]The deeper understanding of the factors driving dynamics and the factors behind this decision difficult by Iraqi immigrants to leave the country is crucial to meet their needs in Iraq better, as well as in countries of transit (transit) and receiving countries. The aim of the International Organization for Migration in this study to provide a comprehensive response to the Immigration Department, in cooperation with the host governments in Europe and the government of Iraq.
