The Clinton Foundation is not as well-funded as it used to be

New donations to the Clinton Foundation dropped by a whopping 37 percent in 2015, according to the charity’s most recent tax filings.
The Clinton Foundation in 2014 brought in $172 million with Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton all playing active roles in day-to-day management of the organization. However, after Hillary Clinton announced her bid for the presidency in early 2015 and took on less responsibility, donations plunged. The Clinton Foundation took in $108 million that year, the New York Post reported.
The decreased funding came at a time of increased turnover in other positions. For example, Donna Shalala, former Health and Human Services secretary under President Clinton, took the reins of the charity in 2015 but was forced to resign just months later after suffering a stroke.
Eric Braverman, a close friend of Chelsea Clinton, was also hired in 2015, but reportedly did not get along with Bruce Lindsey, a top executive. Braverman took $330,000 and left the job just 18 months later.
The Clinton Foundation was a popular talking point for Republicans during the 2016 presidential campaign. President-elect Donald Trump blasted the namesake charity of his opponent Hillary Clinton numerous times, saying it was “criminal” for allegedly allowing other countries to engage the U.S. State Department, run by Hillary Clinton until 2013, in “pay-to-play” politics.
The Clintons have denied such allegations, although emails show that as secretary of state Hillary Clinton met with a number of foreign leaders who also donated to her family’s charity.
