Construction announces procedures to secure housing for people with disabilities

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced on Saturday its preparations to take a number of measures to secure housing for persons with disabilities.
"There are appropriate plans to support the rights of people with special needs and secure adequate housing for them in accordance with the national housing plan in coordination with the relevant authorities," the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" quoted in a report seen by the "Economy News", an official source in the ministry as saying.
The source added, that his ministry "seeks to take a number of measures and issue the necessary decisions to ensure the implementation of its plan, the most important of which is to include this segment with a reduction of 75 percent of the value of the housing unit, taking into account the allocation of ground floors within all complexes that the Ministry is implementing for this category, in addition to allocating 10 percent of The number of housing units in each housing complex that the Ministry is constructing, taking into account the conditions and needs for them within the specifications of its housing projects, according to studies prepared for this purpose.
The source pointed out that “the Ministry of Housing Department of the Ministry prepared a report on its future plans and programs towards this segment and the necessary needs for its optimal implementation.” He pointed out that “the Ministry adopted in its plans the Persons with Disabilities Agreement for the year 2016 and the Law for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs No. 38 of 2013 which states On a large number of rights to the said segment. ”
