    Announced Animal House at the University of Dhi Qar, the signing of an agreement with the Florence Italian University to implement a number of programs and projects for the development of livestock and the development of the dairy industry in the marshes of Dhi Qar, pointing to the commencement of artificial insemination and wide to Buffalo in the next few days. The director of the Animal House at the University of Dhi Qar , Dr. Khalid Fartusi in an interview (term) that there are several projects being planned in collaboration with the FAO and the Italian side with a view to the development of the livestock sector in the marshes of the province, adding that among the planned special laboratory for the production of projects dairy products and raise the quality of dairy production. 
    He said Fartusi, said that the project of artificial insemination of the buffalo to be implemented in cooperation with the Organization of the United Nations FAO in the marshlands reached its final stages, likely launch soon, pointing out at the same time that artificial insemination operations will be implemented broadly for the first time in Iraq. 
    He said the Director of Animal House at the University of Dhi Qar, the Italian government has expressed a desire to adopt a project for the development of the livestock sector in the marshes of Dhi Qar province and set up a special laboratory industry , dairy products and the development of breeding buffalo sector in the district Chabaish east of Nasiriyah, stressing that an agreement concluded between Florence , Italy and the University of Dhi Qar in this regard. 
    The marsh five Dhi Qar province , space, divided into ten administrative units out of 20, with an estimated marshes of Nasiriyah area before drying the early nineties of the last century, one million and 48 thousand acres, while the total area which has been water flooded after 2003 , about 50 percent of the total the total area of the marshes of Nasiriyah. 
     And facing the marshes of the south a number of problems , most notably the fluctuating water levels and lack of basis services as well as the weakness of attention to livestock in those areas , which is famous for raising buffalo, fishing and birds, and are often exposed herds of buffalo to epidemics and diseases that lead to the deaths of a large number of which leads to losses great for educators.
