Intelligence dismantles a network of currency counterfeiting and drug trafficking

The National Intelligence Service announced on Sunday the arrest of a gang of currency counterfeiting and drug trafficking in Baghdad and the provinces.
"A criminal network of 28 people active in the city of Baghdad and the provinces has been arrested in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council," the agency said in a statement received by Mawazine News. "This network falsifies and promotes local and foreign currencies, Drugs, in addition to the sale and smuggling of antiquities. "
The statement added that "with the network, which was scattered in different parts of the capital Baghdad, a number of felons from the printing press and counterfeit currency and official documents prepared for counterfeiting and the amount of narcotic materials and pieces of antiques for smuggling."
He added that "part of this criminal network was to counter the Iraqi currency of the category of 25 thousand dinars and 50 thousand dinars," adding that "seized with one billion and 400 million Iraqis in addition to the printing press and printing devices."
He explained that "the other group specialized in the production of narcotics at the expense of the lives of young people," pointing out that "part of this network has been trading and the effects of getting money for those who pay more have been returned all the effects that were in possession of the gang."
According to the statement, "the other part of the gang was forging official papers of passports and car plates," noting that it "provides facilities for terrorists, especially for all outlaws in general."
He confirmed that he "followed the threads of the network and was able to inflict the entire gang in different parts of the capital Baghdad and one hour," adding that "the gang faces justice now because of their criminal activities."
