Washington: Qatar's boycott does not affect the war against the hasty

    Release Date: 2017/6/5

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Monday called on Gulf states to maintain their unity and resolve differences after three countries and Egypt cut off diplomatic ties with Qatar.
"We certainly encourage the parties to sit together and address these differences," Tillerson told a news conference in Sydney, Australia, in response to a question on recent developments between the two countries and Qatar.
"If there is any role we can play to help them, I think it is important for the GCC to maintain its unity," he said.
The US secretary of state said he did not expect this development in the Gulf region to affect the war against Dahesh.
"All the parties that have been asked by the journalist [ie Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE] are engaged in the war on terror and an organized organization," Tillerson said.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt announced early Monday their severing diplomatic ties with Qatar, asking Qatari diplomats to leave and closing off air, land and sea fields and ports with Doha.
