Ankara/ Iraq TradeLink: Turkish President Recceb Tayyib Erdogan criticized the Iraqi Kurdish

decision for the referendum in the region, describing it a "wrong decision that will threaten the unity of the Iraqi territories".

"Adopting a move to independence in the north of Iraq is a mistake and a threat to the unity of the Iraqi soil", he confirmed.

He added that "we defended the unity of the Iraqi territories and will continue that", stressing that "the referendum is not in the interests of any one".

On 9 June, 2017, Iraqi Premier Haidar al-Ibadi stressed that Iraq will resort to the constitution to determine the relations between the federal government and the Kurdish region, confirming that "no one can determine his destiny in isolation from others".
