The Iraqi government announced a five-year plan to diversify the economy away from dependence on oil and the development of the industrial sector, in a move that could enable Iraq, if implemented, to recover from the effects of war and international economic sanctions, which lasted for decades.

    The plan, covering the period from 2013 to 2017 to invest about 357 billion dollars in development projects across the country focused on the construction and services sectors, agriculture, education, transport and communications and energy.

    He revealed Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussain al-Shahristani told Reuters subsidiaries and independent press (Iba) ... "that the government has taken a decision to focus on resource is oil, and that the new plan will focus on the industry," adding that "about 79 percent of these investments from the government and the rest from the private sector. "

    Yes this is good but Oil will get them there and hold them there until other resources catch up... ;)
