    Today, Monday (May 6, 2024), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received an official invitation to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Azerbaijan.
    Al-Sudani’s media office stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Al-Youm” that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received, today, Monday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iraq, Nasir Mammadov,” noting that “the meeting witnessed the delivery of an official invitation to the Prime Minister from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.” To participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Azerbaijan next November.
    He added, "During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to develop them, and strengthening prospects for joint cooperation in many economic and cultural fields, and in the field of energy and investment."
    He pointed out that "the meeting also touched on the situation in the region, the continuation of the Zionist occupation forces' brutal aggression against our Palestinian people in Gaza, and the importance of the international community and major powers bearing their responsibility in stopping this aggression and preserving the lives of civilians."
