The Independent published a subject for its defense correspondent, Kim Sengupta, entitled "Trump risks repeating the same mistakes in preparation for the invasion of Iraq."
Sengupta says former UN nuclear watchdog chief Hans Blix can now see much resemblance between the Bush administration's handling of Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons of mass destruction and Donald Trump's handling of Iran's nuclear file.
Sinopta adds that former Swedish diplomat Blix sees the same mistakes in Washington's quest to dismantle Iran's nuclear program by refusing to listen to experts who say Tehran is committed to its nuclear deal.
Sengupta explains that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and George Bush insisted that Saddam Hussein's regime possessed weapons of mass destruction that could damage the West in 45 minutes and even convince the world to give false evidence and rejected all evidence given by the UN team of UN inspectors, Which was confirmed after the invasion of Iraq and the destabilization of the region as a whole.
Sengupta compares the former US stance to Iraq and the current position from Iran, saying the main difference is that Bush was driven by a number of civilian militants in his administration who wanted to go to war, but now Trump is surrounded by former military commanders who want war and want to use peaceful means.
Sengupta concludes that the United States this time is unable to launch the same type of war, invade and occupy Iran and dismantle its political system, so it confirms the seriousness of the tone used by Trump because it can push things out of control.
