(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Minister of Electricity Qassim Al-Fahdawi, announced the conclusion of a contract to produce 700 MW of solar energy will enter 350 of them for service next summer.
Al-Fahdawi said in a statement, received by the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of today that "the ministry is currently focusing on the collection of monthly wages more than the collection of previous debts," stressing "the ministry's quest to expand the process of private sector participation in energy projects."
He added that "the preacher of the terrorist stole the power line link between Rawa and Alqaim in addition to stealing a power station in the field of crutches with a capacity of 250 megawatts, which will cause the process of delaying the return of electricity to Al-Qaim."
He pointed out that "Anbar province now needs about 2000 MW and the need is increasing in the coming years."
"Last summer, the ministry was losing 600 megawatts per day and some stations are being extinguished because of lack of fuel for financial reasons."
