    The US Embassy in Iraq said that Washington is working to revitalize the political and economic relationship with Baghdad. 
    "The United States and the Republic of Iraq are committed to developing and strengthening a lasting partnership based on common interests that will continue to expand in the coming years," the statement said. 
    "While we maintain our strong security partnership to ensure the permanent defeat of Daash, we are working to re-energize our political and economic relations to support the Iraqi economy in meeting the challenges of the 21st century and meeting Iraq's reconstruction needs. Trade, education, cultural exchange, cultural protection, law enforcement, environmental protection, energy and other vital fields. "
    Baghdad and Washington signed the Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA) in 2008. The Embassy said that this agreement is the basis on which we build a strong and mutually beneficial relationship and meet again in Baghdad to reaffirm and reaffirm our commitment to this important partnership and the principles of cooperation, sovereignty and mutual respect. "

    Political and diplomatic cooperation and 
    said the United States is committed to supporting the Republic of Iraq as it is deepening and developing its political and economic relations with regional allies, including the GCC. The United States also reiterates its wish to further deepen cooperation in mutually beneficial areas in international forums. The US government has agreed to set up a subcommittee focusing on simplifying visa and stay procedures in Iraq.
    Trade and Financial Cooperation The 
    embassy statement said that the United States and Iraq will activate the framework of the trade and investment agreement to create meaningful improvements in the investment climate in Iraq and attract the investments badly needed reconstruction projects throughout Iraq.
    She said the United States is also committed to supporting Iraq's continued involvement in the IMF program to ensure financial stability and promote economic reform. Iraq asserts that it is acceding to the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (1958) in order to enhance investor confidence in the ability of the Government of Iraq and its willingness to provide a formal mechanism for the settlement of commercial disputes. Moreover, our governments agree to set up a working group to address long-standing trade disputes to promote bilateral economic ties and give US companies a signal that Iraq is open to business. According to the statement.
