International Monetary Fund: Economic growth in the region is insufficient to create opportunities for young people

International Monetary Fund: Economic growth in the region is insufficient to create opportunities f 5481
The director of the Middle East and North Africa at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Jihad Azour, said Tuesday that economic growth in the region is not enough to create enough jobs for young people entering the market.
"Prosperity for all: the promotion of jobs and the overall growth of the Arab world," Azour said at the pre-conference meetings organized by the IMF in cooperation with the Moroccan government and the Arab Monetary Fund, which will take place in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh on 29 and 30 January. Despite the challenges facing the region, human resources are the main drivers of economic growth. "
He called for "focusing on the work of small and medium-sized enterprises and providing the necessary means for the advancement of this type of business, especially the pioneering and innovative ones, for its role in creating desired growth and job creation."
Azour stressed "the importance of enhancing the role of women and enabling them to increase their participation in economic activities, especially as the participation of Arab women is the lowest at the level of global economic gatherings."
