The Kurdistan Region Presidency announced today, Sunday, November 24, 2024, that it will issue a regional order to set the first session of the region’s parliament for its sixth session “in the near future.”
This evening, the Election Commission issued the text of its decision to ratify the results of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections after resolving all appeals.
It is noteworthy that the general voting process in the Kurdistan Parliament elections took place on October 20, and the preliminary results were announced on the 21st, and on the 30th, the final results were announced by the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq.
According to the internal regulations of the Kurdistan Parliament, the first session of Parliament must be called within 10 days of the ratification of the election results. If the session is not called, parliamentarians have the right to hold it on the eleventh day following the ratification of the results.
