French Prime Minister Edward Philippe said Saturday he was pleased with the "remarkable" progress he has made in Iraq in various fields, stressing that Paris will continue to support Iraq until full stability is achieved.
A statement issued by the office of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that Abadi met at his residence in Munich on Saturday morning with French Prime Minister Edward Philippe and his accompanying delegation.
"We continue to pursue and strengthen our capacity and look forward to the continuation of security, economic and trade cooperation, especially in the area of restoring stability, which is no less important than our war against terrorism," Abadi said.
Abadi added that "Iraq has given a shining example in the face of urging and defeating and in the kind of privileged relationship between the liberated forces and citizens, which was the introduction to gain peace and stability."
For his part, the French Prime Minister said: "We are pleased with the amazing progress you have achieved in Iraq and we are with you and we will continue the relationship between our two countries and complete all the tasks until the achievement of full stability."
He added that "France supports you in the success of the Kuwait conference, congratulating you on it," expressing optimism about "the future of cooperation between the two countries in all fields." Ending / 25
