The head of Jordan Free Zone Investors (JAFI), Nabil Rumman, said on Thursday that exports of manufactured goods in the Jordanian free zones to the Iraqi market will increase by 40 percent over the next six months.
"The decision to allow Jordanian trucks to enter Iraqi territory will have a positive impact on the factories of the Jordanian free zones," Ruman said in a statement to Jordan's Al-Rai newspaper.
"The obstacle facing the investors in the free zones is the loading of goods exported from the Jordanian free zones through the port of Trebil in the fields of exchange, which would take a long period of time," Ruman said.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply expressed the judges stressed that Iraq officially exempted about 540 Jordanian goods from customs duties supplied to the Iraqi market.
