The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Iraq's position as Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said that Safa al-Safi was nominated for the post of Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League. The vote was unanimously voted on by the Council of Delegates in the Arab League. The Arab foreign ministry based on the wishes and wishes of the Secretariat of the Arab League until the completion of formal and legal procedures and authorized the Council of Delegates to hold an extraordinary session for the purpose of approving the appointment of Iraqi and Kuwaiti Secretaries General.
