The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Iraq's position as Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said that Safa al-Safi was nominated for the post of Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League. He pointed out that "the Iraqi Foreign Ministry confirms its adherence to the candidate has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the University, so any talk about withdrawing the candidate of Iraq from this position is an attempt to harm Iraq, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through a media campaign broadcast false information and misleading," noting "to prosecute anyone who tries Mislead public opinion or distort facts and abuse their judicial efforts. "
