Bin Salman: I struggled to convince the clerics in Saudi Arabia that many restrictions in the kingd NB-232533-636574671841781613

said Saudi Arabia 's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman , that many of the religious restrictions operating in Saudi Arabia is not the doctrine of Islam , stressing that he made a serious effort to convince the local clergy to do so.

In a meeting with a group of editors and correspondents of the Washington Post , Mohammed bin Salman said that his reforms in social life, including the provision of the right to drive cars for Saudi women and expand their capabilities in society, were carried out after heated discussions with clerics in the Kingdom "He said.
The Crown Prince stressed that he "worked hard to convince conservative religious leaders that such restrictions are not part of the Islamic faith."

"I think Islam is reasonable, Islam is simple, people are trying to take it," he said.

He pointed out that "the long discussions with the clergy were positive," pointing out that "this is the reason for the rise in the number of allies in the religious elite from day to day."

He also discussed the Washington Post with Mohammed bin Salman on the issue of his relations with the brother-in-law of US President Donald Trump and his chief adviser Jared Kouchner.

"It's really crazy," Mohammed bin Salman said, "to trade confidential information with someone like Kouchner or try to use it to support Saudi interests within the administration of the White House .

Mohammed Bin Salman said that this type of relationship does not help either side and there is no truth. He denied to journalists what he had previously reported as saying that "Kouchner was in his pocket", as well as giving him the green light for the Saudi Crown Prince on behalf of the Trump administration , To launch a large campaign to fight corruption in the Kingdom and the arrest of dozens of princes and businessmen in Saudi Arabia, what was implemented last November.

According to the Washington Post, Mohammed bin Salman noted that detention operations were purely domestic and that the campaign had been prepared over the years.

The Saudi crown prince stressed that his relations with Kouchner had not gone beyond normal contacts between the governments of two countries, but added: "We work with each other as friends, not just as partners."

However, he said his relations were also good with US Vice President Michael Pence and other White House officials.

He also discussed the dialogue with Mohammed bin Salman to the Saudi nuclear program. The prince said in this context that his main task in this area is to enrich and use the uranium inside Saudi Arabia to benefit from the effects of energy without buying this material from abroad.

Mohammed bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia's non-use of its uranium reserves, amounting to 5 percent of the world's stockpile, would be tantamount to not exploiting oil in the kingdom.

He added that Saudi authorities would call on the United States to identify laws and facilities to ensure the "proper use" of enriched uranium.
