The Iraqi General Company for Iraqi Ports announced on Monday the continued clean-up of the sunken submerged target [March 1].
"The work was carried out in accordance with the directives of the Minister of Transport to clean the maritime depth of the ship," a ministry statement said.
"The efforts are continuing to lift the drowning by the giant crane crew Abather of the Marine Rescue Department, as well as the Nasserite digger, which has the largest role to dig the target area flooded to enable the teams to lift the passage of lifting chains under drowning and also enable the crane Abathr to reach the goal safely for the purpose of lifting.
For his part, the head of the rescue department in the company, Captain Senan Al-Shawi, said that "the work divided into three teams assigned to each team task and duty to carry out and follow-up from the Director General of ports is going to work as planned and we will finish recovering drowned near the fast."
