Ports reveal percentages of completion in the submerged tunnel

The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Eng. Farhan Al-Fartousi, revealed yesterday, Saturday, the latest works and achievement rates achieved in the highway project linking the port of Al-Faw and the submerged tunnel, one of the projects of the great port of Al-Faw.
The general manager of the company said, "The work on the highway project linking the port of Faw and the submerged tunnel (63) kilometers, one of the projects of the great port of Faw, is achieving advanced completion rates and according to the planned timelines."
He explained that "the road consists of several layers, as the completion rates in the traffic layer (100%), and the general dictation layer (70%), while work is underway on the remaining layers up to the main paving layer."
He added that "works in the bridges within the project also achieve advanced completion rates compared to what was prepared on paper."
He continued, "The road consists of (4) double lanes, and extends towards the submerged tunnel, with a length of (63) kilometers, and contains two bridges, three roundabouts, rest stops, in addition to modern safety and security technologies."
And he indicated that "the benefit of this road is the transportation of goods back and forth to the port, and it is linked with the international highway all the way to Turkey."
It is noteworthy that the highway project linking the port of Faw and the submerged tunnel is one of the five projects in the great port of Faw, for which the foundation stone was laid on April 11, 2021.
