    Twilight News / Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ignored again in a speech delivered Thursday at the Tokyo Conference on the support of job creation in the Kurdistan Region user of the phrase "North."

    The Prime Minister of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, said at one of his press conferences, "Let them use what they say of the phrase of the Kurdistan constitution.
    On September 25, 2017, the Kurdistan Region held a self-determination referendum in which more than 93% of the voters supported various components of independence from Iraq. However, Baghdad quickly took punitive measures against Erbil, such as closing airports to international flights and launching a military operation against Disputed areas with the help of Iran and Turkey, according to Cord.
