    [ltr]Oil prices are heading for gains for a second straight week on Friday, thanks to shrinking supply and continued support from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies on supply cuts.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Brent crude futures were $ 74 a barrel by 0958 GMT, up 22 cents from the previous close.[/ltr]
    [ltr]US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 21 cents to $ 68.50 a barrel.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Crude hit their highest level since November 2014 on Thursday at $ 74.75 and $ 69.56 a barrel, respectively.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said OPEC and its allies were far from reaching their goal and that the reduction of oil stocks needed to continue.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told his OPEC and non-OPEC counterparts at a closed-door meeting in Jeddah on Friday that Moscow was committed to a supply cut agreement until the end of 2018, sources told Reuters.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The sources said after the Russian news agency TASS quoted Novak as saying that OPEC countries and producers from outside are likely to ease oil production cuts this year.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Aside from OPEC's supply management, crude prices also received support from expectations that the United States would impose sanctions on Iran, a member of the Organization.[/ltr]
