On Monday, the parliamentary legal committee returned the deportation of elements calling for the criminalization of foreigners to their countries "illegal", indicating that the Iraqi law obliges the government to hold them accountable within the country and prevents deportation.
"The Iraqi law explicitly prohibits the deportation of any accused of terrorism because he committed the crime of murder and displacement within the Iraqi border," said a member of the committee Kamel al-Zaidi.
Zaidi added that "the deportation of foreign women to their countries of origin due to human rights and protocols signed between the two sides is illegal," noting that "the protocols must be within the system of exchange of accused of the same crime."
