The head of the security committee in the Anbar province, Naim al-Ka'ud al-Nimrawi, said on Thursday that the victims of war remnants outnumber the victims of civilians who were martyred by criminal gangs.
"The number of civilian casualties caused by the explosion of improvised explosive devices and mined objects, which have been inflamed by gangs, is more than the number of victims of the liberation of areas occupied by terrorist groups," Nimrawi said.
"The reason for this is due to the lack of explosives treatment teams and the lack of material support provided by the concerned authorities to eliminate the threat of booby traps from the liberated areas," he added.
Al-Nimrawi explained that the danger of the booby traps still exists, which requires great efforts to clean all areas of the danger of explosives.
