    The Integrity Commission on Tuesday called for addressing weaknesses and imbalances in the law of higher education.
     
    The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research set up a strict and unified mechanism to ensure that universities and colleges pay 3% of their annual revenues and account for those who pay for them. (50%) of the amounts owed by them, and coordination with the General Authority for Taxation to find a mechanism for the conduct of tax accounting, and not only to collect the tax on the income of its employees, but beyond to include revenues from the exercise of its activity.
     
    The team, which has made several field visits to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the National University Education Department, to review the reality of the case, stressed the importance of forming a committee from the ministry to study the law of higher education No. 25 of 2016, Opening outlets for administrative corruption, and setting standards that elevate the level of universities and private colleges and work to classify them according to international standards in order to achieve an optimal environment with solid outputs.
     
    The team called for activating the supervisory and supervisory aspect of the ministry and forming a committee from the National University Education Department to conduct field visits to universities and private colleges to limit the irregularities related to their development and to set a time limit to adapt their situation and to take legal action against institutions that accepted students or opened sections before they were completed. Which have caused many students to be harmed, and have suffered financial and moral losses, and the movement of criminal complaints against their owners for their violations and abuses.
     
    He pointed out that the team has been appointed by some universities, colleges and institutes of higher studies to conclude agreements with Arab and foreign universities to open branches in Iraq, although not recognized by the ministry, but they accept students, and then send them to complete their studies in universities in those countries.
