    The Central Bureau of Statistics announced on Saturday the increase of traffic accidents for 2017 by 0.7% from the previous year. 

    "Traffic accidents registered during 2017 amounted to 8,824 accidents, of which 2,365 were fatal accidents, 26.8% were fatal, 6459 were fatal, and 73.2% were recorded in governorates except Kurdistan, " the agency said in a report. 

    He added that "the number of victims of traffic accidents 2621 people, including 2055 males and 566 females, indicating that the incidents of collision recorded the highest incidence of accidents and the number of 4446 cases followed by cases of run-in by 3267 cases and then 918 coup cases."

    The report noted that "the incidents recorded were the most on the main road and the number of 4695 accidents and the secondary road by 1179 accidents and highways by 1697 cases."
