Iraqi Airways has announced the transfer of about 30 thousand visitors to the airports of the country during the past 5 days.
"The fleet of the Iraqi national carrier continues in the process of transporting the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) from various sectors to the airports of the country," said Miran Farid, director general of Iraqi Airways, .
"The number of flights has gradually increased because of the increasing demand," he said. "Between October 22 and October 26, there were about 150 flights from Beirut, Tehran, Mashhad, Manama, Kuwait, Karachi, Dusseldorf, Istanbul, Mumbai and elsewhere."
He pointed out that "these flights carried on board about 30 thousand visitors to the airports of Baghdad, Najaf and Basra in order to arrive in the holy city of Karbala to perform the visit of the shrine of Imam Hussein peace be upon him.
"The Iraqi Airways prepared early for the visit of the million and all of its aircraft to contribute to the transfer of visitors to the holy city of Karbala."
