Transport is intensifying its efforts to lift the European ban on the green bird

Under the direct guidance of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport seeks to lift the European ban imposed on Iraqi Airlines through full compliance with the requirements of international organizations concerned with the field of aviation.
Director of Relations and Media at the Ministry, Maytham Al-Safi, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: The Prime Minister’s directives stress the necessity of ending the file of the flight ban on airlines and dealing with it with complete seriousness, noting that the committees formed for this purpose have set the basic points for lifting the European ban on airlines. The Iraqi national carrier.
He indicated the existence of serious steps, as the amendment to the Civil Aviation Authority Law was referred to the Parliamentary Transport Committee for a vote, in addition to developing the work of inspection committees in cooperation with the Aviation Safety Agency and other European organizations.
Al-Safi indicated that the cooperation will provide Iraq with highly experienced inspectors and include them in specialized training courses, stressing that Iraqi Airways continues to meet the requirements of the World Aviation Organization.
He added that the Aviation Authority has passed the first stage of diagnosing the points and a meeting is scheduled to be held with them to obtain the third operator’s certificate, explaining that the Ministry of Transport and Iraqi Airlines are ready and prepared, given that Iraq has a modern fleet of aircraft.
