Al-Arab newspaper reported that the House of Representatives failed for the second time in a row to include in its agenda a paragraph on voting on the remaining portfolios within the cabin of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, which indicates the existence of "deep differences" between the parliamentary blocs on the names of candidates.
The newspaper said in a report, published on Friday, November 9, 2018, that it was scheduled to vote on the names of the names of the candidates for the remaining 8 bags, in last Tuesday's session, but the session ended without the file to be presented during, to postpone until Thursday, Which also passed, without completing the cab.
"The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, asked the deputies of the reform bloc to object to the inclusion in the agenda of Thursday's session of the vote on the completion of the cab, after he found out that Faleh al-Fayyad, the candidate supported by Tehran to fill the portfolio of the Interior in the government Abdul Mahdi, is close to achieving the majority necessary to gain confidence. "
The newspaper pointed out that "Tehran stepped up its pressure in support of Fayadh, and sent the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Ameri, to Najaf, last Thursday, to meet with Sadr and work to persuade him to lift the veto, which opposes the former head of the popular crowd.
According to the sources, the number of deputies who guaranteed Tehran support for Fayadh when he offered to vote enough to give him confidence, but "Vito Sadr" disrupts the vote, adding that "Fayyad will pass easily from parliament as soon as he put his name on the vote, after a shuttle movement of the allies of Tehran between the forces of Parliament during The past two days. "
On the other hand, the last minute negotiations witnessed a significant change on the candidate for the defense portfolio. After Sunni political forces nominated nine names to fill them, former parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri surprised everyone by putting his name as a candidate for this security ministry.
Sources confirmed that "the entry of Jubouri, the relative weight, on the nomination line for the defense portfolio, will be the process of resolving, especially in light of fierce competition between the list of Iyad Allawi and the movement of Jamal Karbouli."
According to observers, the ongoing postponement of the remaining bags in Abdul-Mahdi's cabin opens the door to its list of candidates for constant changes.
It is worth mentioning that the agenda of the parliamentary session scheduled for Saturday, also failed to vote on the remaining portfolios in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi.
