The Iraqi Railways Company discussed with the representative of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the accompanying delegation of companies affiliated with them the establishment of future investment projects in the field of railways.
The company's general manager, Eng. Salam Jabr Saloum, said in a statement that a brief explanation was given about the company's future plans and projects and the desire to promote its development and projects of economic feasibility in transporting goods and passengers.
"The issue of railway linking of the suspended train between Karbala and Najaf was discussed through investment to transport visitors to the two holy cities," Salloum said.
For his part, the delegation wished to study the possibility of implementing the project after studying the technical and engineering aspects and economic feasibility of it.
A joint task force has been set up to identify the location of the proposed route between Karbala and Najaf because of this vital project.
