    Information / Baghdad ..
The head of the Union of Jordanian Agricultural Exporters Union Suleiman Al-Hayari announced on Monday the Iraqi government's approval to grant Iraqi importers import licenses for vegetables and fruits from Jordan through the Trebil crossing as of February 15.
"Iraqi importers informed the association last weekend of the Iraqi government's agreement to allow the importation of Jordanian fruits and vegetables as of February 15," Al-Hayari said in a statement to Al-Rai newspaper.
He added that "tomato season is nearing completion in the city of Basra in Iraq," noting that "the tomato product will be the main export in this time of year for Iraq."
He added that "the start of export to the Iraqi side comes in conjunction with the Iraqi decision to include agricultural products in the list of exemption of Jordanian goods from customs duties, as this decision will revive Jordanian exports in the Iraqi market, which is vital and very important for Jordan.
"The decision will contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two countries, leading to the recovery of the agricultural sector, especially since the spring loop in production is resolved by the end of this month, which is the basis and peak in the region of the Jordan Valley.
He pointed out that "Jordanian trucks will enter directly into the Iraqi market and various provinces, unlike the situation in the past, where the export was carried out across Kuwaiti territory," stressing that "Baghdad and Basra in particular, the most important markets for Jordan as it consumes the largest amount of production Agricultural ". Ending / 25
