Iraq: Iraq still deals with the laws of the Saddam regime

A member of the legal committee on parliamentary Change Bloc Bahar Mahmoud on Monday called for correcting and reforming the legal system in line with the current parliamentary system, stressing that it is preparing a large project in preparation for it on this subject. He pointed out that Iraq is still dealing with the laws of the Saddam regime.
"The legal system in any country must reflect the regime of the country and any legal system must have a single philosophy," Mahmoud said in a statement received by Al-Maaloumah. "The day after the fall of the former regime in Iraq, Requirements and philosophy of the parliamentary system, but to date we are working with laws issued under the former regime. "
"It is supposed to correct the legal system in the country to be highly dispersed and does not achieve a certain philosophy unified, so we need amendments in all civil, criminal, commercial and personal status."
