MP Mohamed Shi'a al-Sudani, on Sunday, the media and communications and the Ministry of Communications and other concerned parties to reduce the cost of mobile phones and the Internet.
Al-Sudani said in a statement received by Mawazine News that "the Media and Communications Authority and the Ministry of Communications should work seriously to address the two issues, especially in light of the high demands of the people, which calls for improving the service of telephone networks and weak Internet service and reduce costs commensurate with the living conditions of citizens, To urge companies to provide added services in a competitive and away from financial greed and exploitation of the citizen. "
He added that "it is OK to benefit from the experiences of neighboring countries or other countries in this area in terms of control mechanism and the collection of fees and other technical matters to be in a professional and parallel that preserves the interest of these companies to encourage them to provide the best service for citizens."
The Iraqi Organization for Quality Measurement has blamed the Ministry of Communications for the weakness of the Internet in the country.
"The last days have witnessed a decline in access of users to the Internet, while the Ministry of Communications double amounts for the service provided, but the reality of service in Iraq is the least and the weakest in the world according to international classifications and units of measurement capacity."
"The other reason that produces poor Internet service is the smuggling of Internet capacity, and the Ministry of Communications has not yet accounted for companies that run away from the Internet and have many issues in the Iraqi courts."
