Trump and Bin Salman discuss telephone "measures to counter Iran's hostile activities"

Search US President, Donald Trump, in a telephone conversation with the Saudi monarch, Mohammed bin Salman, on Friday, June 21, 2019 "and to ensure necessary to counter Iranian activities hostile actions."
The Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister received a telephone call from US President Donald Trump.
He added that "during the communication, they discussed the developments in the region and the necessary and effective measures to counter hostile Iranian activities and work together to ensure the security, safety and protection of sea ports."
"The efforts to stabilize the oil supplies and the relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples have also been reviewed," he said.
The White House also said in a statement that the US President "spoke on Friday with Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the stability of the Middle East and the oil market," after tensions with Iran to high oil prices.
"The two leaders discussed the crucial role of Saudi Arabia in ensuring stability in the Middle East and the global oil market," said White House spokesman Hogan Gaidley. "They also discussed the threat posed by the behavior of the Iranian regime."
Earlier on Friday, Trump said, via a Twitter account, that "Washington was about to strike Iran last night, but decided to stop it 10 minutes ahead of time in order to save the lives of civilians."
Trump added:
"Ten minutes before the raid, I stopped it, because it does not fit with the drop of a drone. I'm not in a hurry to respond."
Iranian officials said earlier in the day that "Tehran received a message from President Trump through Amman carrying a warning of an imminent American attack."
The air force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards said in a statement that it had shot down a US Air Force RQ-4 Global Hawk aircraft flying over the coast of the city of Koh Mubarak in the state of Hormuzgan, overlooking the Gulf of Oman.
But the US military denied what Tehran announced, said that the plane, which was dropped by an Iranian missile, "was flying in the international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz, and that there is no aircraft American march operating in Iranian airspace."
The region is under growing tension from the United States and Gulf states on the one hand, and Iran on the other, by Tehran abandoning some of its commitments to the nuclear program (concluded in 2015) after Washington withdrew from it, as well as Saudi accusations of targeting oil facilities through the Yemeni Houthi group.
The tension has been exacerbated recently after the Pentagon announced the dispatch of the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and Middle East bombers to intelligence about possible preparations by Iran to carry out attacks against US forces or interests.
