    The legal expert Ali al-Tamimi said on Monday that the governor of Wasit Mohammed al-Mayahi may be sentenced to three years imprisonment after assaulting a police officer during the duty, pointing out that the governor does not have any legal immunity. 
    Al-Tamimi said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "article 63 of the constitution provides for granting immunity to deputies only and in a narrow range where the governor has no immunity, in addition to the governor must resort to legal methods by informing the police director to solve the problem of traffic congestion, Open an investigation against the pioneer. " 
    Al-Tamimi added that "the governor's conduct of more than 1,000 meters to the officer assaulted, confirms that there is premeditation and surveillance by the governor, in addition to the video document is clear evidence of the incident."
    "The governor is quick to take action against the control officer. This is part of Article 229 of the Penal Code, which punishes a one-year sentence and increases the sentence to three years," he said. 
    He pointed out that "three parties have the right to open an investigation with the governor and his accountability, namely the provincial council and the parliament in addition to the prime minister in accordance with Article 78 of the Constitution and is entitled to withdraw the hand of the governor for two months in accordance with the law of discipline of State employees No. 14 of 1991, "The officer in accordance with Article 229 has the right to file a criminal action against the governor and the aggressor is punished by imprisonment for up to 3 years, in addition to having the right to file a civil suit to demand compensation as appropriate to him." Ending / 25 n
