    Reuters) - The commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Major General Qassim Soleimani, has directed Iranian armed factions in Syria to prepare for a possible war with the United States, the official Anatolia news agency reported Friday. 
    The agency quoted local sources as saying that "Soleimani visited, on Thursday, the city of Albokmal, the province of Deir al-Zour, southeast of Syria, on the border with Iraq." 
    The sources added that "Soleimani visited the camps of the factions of Iran, amid tight security, and met the military advisers of the Revolutionary Guards, and the leaders of various groups in the region." 
    The sources pointed out that "Soleimani asked for preparations for a possible war with the United States, and stressed that there is no disagreement with the Syrian regime on the confrontation."
