Human Rights Watch warned on Saturday of an oil spill threatening Basra residents.
"The diversion of oil to the waters of Basrah is a serious matter that requires people to be warned and informed," the organization said in a report.
She added that "the Iraqi government did not say anything on this subject, which led to the injury of thousands of civilians in the province and transfer them to hospitals," noting that "the Iraqi government's interaction with this event is a disgrace."
