    The Oil and Energy Committee requested the management of Sumo to provide it with written and document-backed answers on its contracts for the sale of crude oil, the import of petroleum derivatives and the transfer of crude oil.

    "The Oil and Energy Committee, headed by Deputy Hept Al-Halbousi, hosted the General Manager of the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) and the company's leadership to discuss a number of issues relating to the company's work and the contracts it concludes in the process of selling and transporting crude oil," said a statement from the Information Department of the House of Representatives.

    He added that "the committee praised the role played by Sumo in representing Iraq internationally," stressing that "the committee supported the company by all means in order to develop its performance and protect Iraq's oil from any waste or loss due to mismanagement and overcome the obstacles facing the company's work and prevent the achievement of the desired benefit for the objectives The company is an international marketer in the light of Iraq being one of the largest countries in the export of crude oil."

    "The members of the committee expressed their observations regarding the contracts concluded by Sumo in the sale of crude oil, the import of petroleum derivatives and the transfers of crude oil," the statement said.

    He noted that "the Chairman of the Committee requested the management of Sumo to provide the Committee with written and document-backed answers regarding the questions and inquiries raised by the Chairman and members of the Committee."

    "During the meeting, it was agreed to hold a subsequent meeting to discuss the sale prices of crude oil and the international bulletin adopted by Sumo, and to work on coordination and joint work to achieve the goals set in achieving the best financial imports in the oil sector," the statement said.
