, leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, confirmed on Sunday that he is not seeking the prime minister.
Allawi said, in a tweet on "Twitter": "I made clear my resignation to parliament and announced it to public opinion frankly."
He added, "I am not seeking the prime minister, nor will I compete with those who seek to obtain it."
Allawi continued: "I did not nominate myself previously for the position - I agree with the brothers in the Governing Council on my nomination - and I will not nominate myself."
Allawi announced, earlier, his resignation from the membership of the House of Representatives because the latter's failure to deal with the demands of the demonstrators and repeated failures. Ended 29 / A 43
