    Al-Diwaniyah: Al-Furat News: On Sunday, Al-Diwaniyah Governorate witnessed the closure of departments and the cutting of major roads and bridges, in protest against Mohamed Tawfiq Allawi's appointment to the Prime Minister.
    "Protesters cut a number of main streets, traffic intersections and a number of bridges in Diwaniya by burning tires inside the governorate center to protest against the nomination of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi for the post of prime minister," a local source told {Euphrates News}.
    Yesterday, Saturday, President of the Republic, Barham Salih, announced that Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi was appointed to the Prime Minister, succeeding resigned Adel Abdul Mahdi, after the political forces agreed to his candidacy.
    With the movements of Tahrir Square in the center of the capital, Baghdad, issued a statement in response to Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi’s appointment to the Prime Minister, who declared the protesters' categorical rejection of the candidacy of ‘Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi’, as it is far removed and contrary to the points that we previously sent, the President of the Republic, so it was decided to escalate if he was nominated by force. The level of disdain for the political class for the sacrifices made by the demonstrators since the first of October.
    For his part, Prime Minister-designate Allawi addressed the Iraqi people on the occasion of assigning him the position pledging to work hard to hold early elections and hand over the corrupt to the judiciary. He also pledged to commit to providing job opportunities for citizens, fighting corruption and dissolving economic committees, forming a government away from sectarian quotas and representing all spectrums and involving the competent in forming The government rejected the candidates of political forces.
