Former lawmaker: Pressure to keep four current ministers in Allawi's government

Ex-MP Jasim Al-Bayati revealed political pressure on Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to keep four ministers from Adel Abdul-Mahdi’s government in the new cabinet.
Al-Bayati said in a press statement: "The political blocs seek to keep the ministers of planning, oil, electricity and foreign affairs in their positions in the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi."
He added: "The KDP has categorically refused to name independents in the next government, and is seeking to obtain the same ministries belonging to it in the current government."
Al-Bayati continued: "The word (independents) in [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/134564/%D8%AD%D9%83%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A9 %D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%8A]Allawi's government[/url] is not certain, as everyone seeks to name loyal or close ministers of Al-Fateh and others, and the Iraqi Forces and Kurdistan Democratic Union."
