Member of the specialized committee: Some politicians took advantage of the demonstrations to amend the constitution

Member of the Parliamentary Constitutional Amendments Committee, Jamal Kujer, accused some politicians of "exploiting" popular demonstrations to demand the amendment of the constitution, considering that amending the Iraqi constitution was never a popular demand.
"The amendment of the Iraqi constitution is not an easy process in light of the presence of multiple political parties within the parliament," Cougar said in a statement to "Information", noting that "some politicians took advantage of popular demonstrations to make an amendment to the provisions of the constitution, which goes through very difficult and complex stages."
He added, that the amendment of the Iraqi constitution was not a popular demand, "noting that" the current situation does not allow for a comprehensive amendment of all paragraphs of the constitution without the agreement of all political forces. " Ended / 25h
