Today, Saturday, the Human Rights Commission in Iraq called on the Iraqi government to pay compensation to people with limited income because of their damage to the curfew measures imposed by the government to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
Fadel Al-Gharawi, a member of the Human Rights Commission, said in a statement; The recent embargo measures have made many people with limited incomes lose their daily strength and job opportunities that they depend on to meet their humanitarian needs.
Al-Gharawi added that the high prices of foodstuffs and the failure of the government to provide financial compensation to people with limited income or an increase in the ration due to the ban have caused thousands of families to lose their main sources of income.
And between; Cutting citizens' livelihoods and preventing them from working under the pretext of the ban without compensating them is a flagrant violation of human rights, which calls for the government to demand compensation and provide them with urgent tax exemptions to help them overcome the crisis and change the prohibition measures from security to preventive health.
