Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani confirmed today, Saturday, that the fifth and sixth licensing rounds include projects in all governorates for international companies, within the framework of exploration, development and production contracts.
He said in his speech at the ceremony for granting the fifth and sixth licensing rounds, “The Ministry transferred 27 contracts for oil and gas fields to international companies that had an impact on the state’s financial revenues, pointing to Iraq’s exports to add more than two million barrels per day.”
He stressed, "The Ministry has adopted a profit-sharing formula instead of a service contract to enhance the contribution of qualified international companies in the oil and gas sectors to achieve a national strategy for natural gas production."
He pointed out, "The two rounds include 12 governorates that represent investment opportunities that contribute to economic expansion and expand the governorates in terms of providing work, and lead to increased stability, employment of the workforce, and benefiting from gas needs for power generation and industries."
He stressed that "the Nasiriyah gas field will soon be expanded, in addition to the projects occupied by the Basra projects, and the fifth licenses that were concluded in the middle of last year will be held, which will add gas capacity of more than 800 m3." End 25
