The Parliamentary Legal Committee revealed, on Monday, the content of the Supreme Criminal Court Law, while it was likely to include it on the agenda of the upcoming parliament sessions.
A member of the committee, MP Hassan Fadam, according to the official agency, said, "The law of the Supreme Criminal Court includes the trial of ISIS militants who committed crimes against the Iraqi people outside Iraq."
Fadam added, "The courts in the country are not competent to hear international cases and crimes," noting that "this legislation will allow the Iraqi judiciary to prosecute terrorists who have committed terrorist crimes inside or outside Iraq."
He pointed out that "the law will be included in the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary sessions after the approval of the laws of the Federal Supreme Court and the 2021 budget." Ended 6/29 N
