The Ministry of Planning confirmed, on Monday (April 12, 2021), that the implementation of the Iraq-China agreement depends on a set of factors .
The Director General of the Ministry's Sector Planning Department, Basem Dhari Mahmoud, said in a statement reported by official media, that "the Chinese agreement is in the draft 2021 budget law."
Mahmoud added, "The agreement is awaiting completion of the details and agreements in coordination with the Public Debt Department and the special team at the Ministry of Finance ."
On the population census, Mahmoud pointed out that "there are unremitting efforts being made by the Central Bureau of Statistics and the relevant authorities in the Ministry of Planning to conduct the general population census."
He pointed out that "the census will take place in the event that the appropriate conditions are available," expressing his hope that "there will be seriousness on the part of the Ministry of Planning and the State's special agencies to conduct it .
