[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Ministry of Planning held a joint meeting with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Tuesday, during which the technical details of the executive agreement signed between the two sides related to development goals were discussed, to support development efforts in all Iraqi governorates.
Director General of the International Cooperation Department Saher Abdul-Kazem Mahdi said in a statement: "The ministry is proceeding with activating the executive agreement with the US agency, in light of the development witnessed by bilateral relations between the two countries, in accordance with common interests in many areas, most notably development aspects.
He added, "The meeting came to discuss the technical details of a number of ongoing basic programs in Iraq. In addition to discussing how to organize and coordinate efforts between the two sides, clarifying the support provided by the agency, and coordinating procedures according to government contexts. He pointed out that the executive agreement focuses on three main areas of cooperation, which are enhancing accelerated economic growth, enhancing citizens' confidence in the state and governance, and meeting the needs of vulnerable groups.
The meeting was attended by the Financial Officer of the Development Agency for Iraq and the Middle East, and the Director of Development Affairs at the United States Agency for Development, Mr. John Ezell, as well as representatives of the Advisory Board and the Ministry of Finance. /End 3[/rtl]
