The Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee clarified today, Friday, the reasons for the delay in resolving the public-private partnership law, in addition to other important laws.
Committee member Mazen Al-Faili said that "the Public-Private Partnership Law is among the many laws that have not been resolved during this parliamentary session, in addition to some important laws that have not been resolved from previous sessions."
He added, "The reason for this is that Parliament sessions were not properly organized as a result of the security events that occurred, in addition to the Corona pandemic and the preparation for early elections," stressing that "these reasons do not justify the delay in enacting important laws, including the Public Partnership Law. and private.”
He stressed, "The law is important and concerns an important sector, which is the economic sector," noting that "Iraq is in need of these legislations to develop its economy in the right direction according to a future vision that is in harmony with the world's economic growth."
The Parliamentary Economic Committee announced on (May 24, 2021) that the Public-Private Partnership Law is still in the process of studying, despite the completion of 80% of it, while noting that the obstacle facing the law is how to preserve state assets.
The committee indicated that the law left only minor points of contention in order to be finalized. Ended 29/A87
